Nassau County Police Dept: Narcotics Arrest Made in Syosset

Syosset, NY - October 15th, 2013 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Westbury man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance which occurred on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 3:35 p.m. in Syosset.

According to detectives, Bureau of Special Operations officers were conducting an investigation when they observed the  defendant Bettis Richardson, 51 of 350 Magnolia Avenue approach an unoccupied 2013 Dodge parked in a lot at 571 Jericho Turnpike. As the officers approached the defendant he tossed a clear plastic bag containing Cocaine on to the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle. The officers were able to recover the narcotics and placed Richardson under arrest without incident.

Richardson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
