Nassau County Police Dept: Man Arrested for New Hyde Park Burglary

New Hyde Park, NY - October 15th, 2013 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Bronx man for a Burglary that occurred on August 9, 2013 in New Hyde Park.

According to detectives, the male victim, 42 years of age, was informed by construction workers at his Lawrence Street home that materials and equipment valued at $5,000.00 dollars were missing from his home. The victim contacted the defendant Damion I. Brown, 35 of 323 Surf Drive, the former contractor about the items. Brown admitted he had removed the property but refused to return it. The victim made numerous attempts to convince Brown to return the property but was unsuccessful. He then reported the loss to police. Third Squad detectives located Brown at his residence on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. and placed him under arrest without incident.

Brown is charged with Burglary 2nd degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at First District court in Hempstead.
