Seven Motorcyclists Arrested by SCPD for Reckless Driving on the LIE

Patchogue, NY - October 14th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a group of motorcyclists for driving recklessly on the Long Island Expressway.

Two motorists called 911 to report motorcyclists weaving in and out of traffic and speeding on the eastbound Long Island Expressway near Exit 49 at approximately noon. A Highway Patrol officer responded and followed the group for approximately 10 exits and witnessed the motorcyclists driving recklessly.  When the group approached Exit 63 and traffic slowed, a second Highway Patrol car pulled out in front of the group and all seven motorcyclists pulled over to the right shoulder.

The following seven people were charged with Reckless Driving, a misdemeanor, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

  • Edward Gianino, 25, of Farmingdale
  • Emilio Morales, 28, of Brooklyn
  • Ian Glass, 20, of Farmingdale
  • Nicholas Belletti, 28, of Great Neck
  • Oskar Bucki, 20, of Glendale
  • David Golaszewski, 20, of Glendale
  • Victor Dasilva, 33, of Farmingdale

The motorcycles were impounded. The men are expected to be arraigned on a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
