Suffolk County SPCA Detectives Charge Riverhead Woman With Animal Cruelty

Riverhead, NY - October 13, 2017 - Suffolk County SPCA Detectives have charged a Riverhead woman with Animal Cruelty on October 12, 2017.
 
Alicia Spradley, 33, of Riverhead, NY was charged with animal neglect for failure to provide proper sustenance, a misdemeanor. The dog, a 9 year old female pit bull, was living in substandard and unsanitary conditions with an untreated injury. 
 
Spradley is due in Southampton Justice Court on November 3,  2017.
  
Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated  in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
