Nassau County, NY - October 13, 2017 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano joined Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine at a press conference at the Long Island Association in Melville. County Executive Mangano presented a proposal, on behalf of Nassau County and their economic development team, for Belmont Park as a potential location for Amazon’s new headquarters. Heartland Town Square in Islip and the Brookhaven Airport were also proposed sites for the new facility.
“I want to thank Kevin Law and everyone at the LIA for inviting us here, as well as my economic development team for everything they’ve done and continue to do to attract quality employers to Nassau County,” said County Executive Mangano. “Belmont’s unique location and transportation infrastructure coupled with Nassau County’s quality of life and educated workforce, makes this proposal a Triple Crown contender. We hope that Amazon will join us!”
