Police: 59-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in North Amityville Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in North Amityville this morning.
 
A man was driving a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Route 110 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway in front of 720 Route 110 at approximately 4:55 a.m.
 
The pedestrian, a 59-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a North Babylon resident, was not injured.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
