NCPD: Wantagh Teen Assaults Police Officers After Caught Trespassing at Plainview Temple

Plainview, NY - October 11, 2017 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of Natan Weissblum of Wantagh, 18, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 7:00am in Plainview.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Natan Weissblum, 18, entered the Young Israel of Plainview Temple located at 132 Southern Parkway and went to the second floor and entered a restricted area. When he was asked to leave that area he refused, so officials contacted the Police.
 
Upon Police arrival, the defendant continued to refuse Officers lawful order to exit the building and began to act aggressively toward the Police Officers. The defendant then punched one of the Officers in the face causing pain and a laceration. A struggle ensued, the defendant continued to punch, flail his arms, kick and bite Officers causing lacerations, bleeding and pain to three Officers.  
 
Defendant Weissblum was placed in Police custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.  The Officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries and were later released.
 
Defendant Natan Weissblum is charged with three counts of Assault, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Criminal Trespass.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
