Mastic Beach, NY - October 11, 2013 – The William Floyd High School National Honor Society (NHS) raised $2,502 for the American Cancer Society “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk” held on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the Dowling College Brookhaven Campus. Approximately 35 William Floyd High School NHS students came out on a drizzly afternoon to walk the course. “We are so proud of the students and their commitment to such a worthy, and for many, a very personal cause,” said Lisa Taiani, William Floyd High School social studies teacher and NHS co-advisor along with fellow social studies teacher Kerri Coudrey. “We are even more proud of their dedication to keeping their commitment. Time after time, William Floyd students continue to display empathy and compassion for others in difficult or trying situations.”
