Freeport, NY - October 11th, 2013 - Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a Serious Auto Accident that occurred on October 10, 2013 at 7:40 pm in Freeport.

According to detectives, while traveling northbound on N. Main Street the 27 year old driver from Roosevelt, while in his 1997 Nissan Maxima, was approaching the intersection of Lena Avenue and was confronted by 3 pedestrians who were crossing from the north side to the south side of Lena Avenue. The driver who was unable to stop in time, collided with the pedestrians causing the 39 year old mother to sustain a head injury, her 13 year old daughter to sustain a non life threatening back injury and her 8 year old sister to sustain a possible broken leg. The family was transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The mother is listed in serious but stable condition.

A brake and safety check of the vehicle was performed at the scene and was released back to the uninjured driver.

There are no charges pending as a result of this accident.
