Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta Recognizes Kings Park Eagle Scout Stephen R. Vellecca of Troop 539

Smithtown, NY - October 10, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta congratulated Stephen R. Vellecca of Boy Scout Troop 539 at his recent Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at the Nissequogue Post 5796 VFW in Kings Park. Stephen earned the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout by completing a labor intensive community based project at the Kings Park High School. Under Stephen’s leadership, a courtyard at the High School was renovated and he built three picnic tables and painted four flower pots. The courtyard was dedicated to the school’s late social studies teacher, Anthony Scotto, who was also a WWII veteran.
 
“It is always an honor for me to be invited and to attend an Eagle Scout Court of Honor. This is a tremendous accomplishment for a young person and it is a recognition that Stephenwill have for the rest of his life,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta. “I applaud his parents, family, friends, scout leaders and fellow scouts who helped him to achieve this goal,” added Legislator Trotta.
 
Legislator Robert Trotta represents the 13th Legislative District, and serves on the Legislature’s Economic Development, Parks & Recreation and Veterans Committees.
