Great Neck Man Arrested for DWI with 9 Year-Old Son in Vehicle, According to Police

Manhasset, NY - October 9, 2017 - The Third Precinct reports the arrest of a Great Neck man for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) that occurred in Manhasset on Sunday, 10/08/17 at 10:46 P.M.
 
According to police officers, Jose Castillo, 33, was operating a 2001 Hyundai Elantra northbound on Plandome Rd./George St., while intoxicated, with his 9-year-old son in the car. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene. The child was released to his mother.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
Castillo is being charged with Aggravated Driving Intox (Child 15), Endangering Welfare of Child, DWI, Driving Alcohol Impaired, Unlicensed Operator, and several other VTL violations. He will be arraigned on Monday, 10/09/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
