Riverhead, NY - October 9th, 2013 - The Suffolk County SPCA has increase the reward to $5,200 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the killing and mutilation of the 4 three week old kittens. The NYC based ASPCA has contributed $2,500 towards the $5,200 reward.

The public outcry to this heinous act of cruelty has been tremendous. Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA said that the kittens were found with their throats slashed in the rear yard of a business on East Main Street in Riverhead.  It appeared that the bodies of the kittens had been thrown over the fence into the yard of the business. Justice must be found for these innocent kittens.

Gross said that anyone with information can call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
