Suffolk County SPCA: Woman Found Guilty Of Animal Cruelty

Ridge, NY - October 8th, 2014 - The Suffolk County SPCA issued a statement today announcing that a Ridge woman has been found guilty of 5 counts of Animal Cruelty.

Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA said that Cynthia Schultes, 53 was found guilty yesterday after a jury trial in Suffolk County First District Court.  Ms. Schultes, owner of Quiet Time Shires, had horses that were severely emaciated.  

Chief Gross praised the work of the Suffolk County SPCA Detective, the Judge and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office who worked countless hours on this case. Justice was served for the animals.

Gross said that the four remaining horses are doing well and living out their years, never having to experiencing again the horrors they once lived through.  Sentencing for Schultes is set for December 4th, Suffolk First District Court.
