Hempstead Men Arrested for Gun Possession

Hempstead, NY - October 8th, 2014 - The Major Offense Squad, Special Investigations Squad, report the details of an Arrest of two Hempstead men on October 7, 2014 at 9:30pm in Hempstead.

According to Detectives, on September 28, 2014 at 3:41pm on Stewart Avenue in Hempstead the two defendants were driving in a black colored 2007 Hyundai when approximately four gun shots were fired in their direction from an another vehicle possibly green or black in color.  Defendant Jason Ambrose, 21, of Wellington Street was driving the vehicle and was struck in the upper chest area with one bullet.  Defendant Todd Davis, 21, of Weir Street was unharmed.  Defendant Ambrose drove himself to a local hospital for treatment.  Defendant Ambrose’s vehicle was impounded as part of the continuing investigation to collect evidence.  Recovered from the vehicle was a fully loaded .38 caliber revolver.

Defendants Ambrose and Davis are both charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.  Additionally, Davis is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.  The defendants will be arraigned on October 8, 2014 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.

The investigation is continuing.
