Update - October 8, 2015 - The Homicide Squad has identified the victim in the above homicide as Gomez Hurd, 31 of New Cassel.

New Cassel, NY - October 6, 2015 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday, October 05, 2015 at 6:16 p.m. in New Cassel.
According to detectives, Third Precinct Officers responded to a call for a male shot in front of 994 Prospect Avenue. Upon their arrival they discovered a male victim, 31 years of age suffering from multiple gunshots. The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 6:42 p.m. by medical personnel.
