Inwood, NY - October 6th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Arverne man on Saturday, October 4, 2014 for Assault in Inwood.

According to detectives, a male victim, 18 years of age, was walking across the Town of Hempstead Parking lot on Lord Lane when he was approached by the defendant and a male black, 20 years of age, thin build, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt (no further description).  The defendant, Tremaine Woods, 17, of Beach 59th Street did display a dark colored handgun and did strike the victim with the butt-end of the weapon causing injuries to his face.

The 18 year old victim was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Woods is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree.  He will be arraigned on October 6, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
