Special Drive-In Movie Events & Halloween Movies on the Big Screen

Written by Chris Boyle  |  07. October 2021

For the first time here on Long Island, a Spanish-language movie will be shown on the giant 52-foot drive-in movie screen.  Disney/Pixar’s COCO will be shown on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 7:00pm as part of  Movie Lot Drive-In, a long-running pop-up drive-in movie series, in the back lot of the Westfield South Shore Mall in Bay Shore, NY.  For information and tickets, visit www.MovieLotDriveIn.com.

COCO is Disney/Pixar’s vibrant tale of family, fun and adventure, as aspiring young musician named Miguel embarks on an extraordinary journey to the magical land of his ancestors. There, the charming trickster Hector becomes an unexpected friend who helps Miguel uncover the mysteries behind his family’s stories and traditions.

Movie Lot Drive-In has been entertaining Long Island families with special drive-in movies and themed movie nights since May 2020.  “Drive-in movie shows became popular because they offered a safe option for entertainment during the pandemic when all other outlets were closed,” said Andy Calimano, owner of Starfish Junction, the event production company behind the popular Movie Lot Drive-In series.    “Today, while pandemic numbers have improved and other options are open to the public, the drive-in movie experience remains a popular and fun-filled way for family and friends to gather together for a unique al fresco movie experience. Offering a movie like COCO in Spanish, we will appeal to an underserved community and bring smiles to the faces of many local families,” said Calimano.

COCO is just part of a fun-filled weekend at Movie Lot Drive-In.  Also showing in the Halloween-themed weekend are these favorites:
