Occupied Medford Home Burglarized, Man Shot, According to Reports

Medford, NY - October 5, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a burglary at an occupied Medford home that occurred on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
 
Two masked men, one armed with a handgun, entered a home on Eagle Avenue at 11:59 p.m. An occupant of the residence struggled with the intruders and sustained a gunshot wound to his hand. Two other occupants were on the second floor of the residence when the incident occurred and they were not injured. The two suspects fled without proceeds.
 
The gunshot victim, an 18-year-old male, was transported via Medford Rescue Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, New York for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
