Elmont Man Arrested After Assaulting Officers
Elmont, NY - October 4, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Elmont man for Assault that occurred in Elmont on October 3, 2014 at 4:10 pm.
According to detectives, Fourth Precinct Police Officers responded to the Elmont Memorial Library located at 700 Hempstead Turnpike to assist security with a disorderly person refusing to leave. Upon police arrival, two officers observed defendant Gregory M. Graham, 16, of 219 Benson Avenue refusing to leave. He was then given several direct verbal commands to leave at which time he struck an officer with his right elbow. He then began to violently flail his arms and then punch both officers’ while refusing to be handcuffed. After a struggle and the assistance of more Fourth Precinct Police Officers the defendant Gregory M. Graham was eventually placed into police custody. Both Officers were injured. One suffered left shoulder pain and abrasions and the other suffered swelling and contusions to the right forearm. Both were transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment.
Gregory M. Graham is charged with two counts Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Trespass. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, October 04, 2014.
