Lake Grove Man Arrested for 45 License Suspensions/Revocations

Nesconset, NY - October 4, 2014 - Suffolk County Police arrested a Lake Grove man last night after it was determined that his license had been suspended or revoked 45 times.
 
Fourth Precinct Patrol Officer Richard Regula was on patrol in Nesconset when he responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. James A. Tomassi was driving an unregistered 2002 Suzuki northbound on Old Nicols Road when his motorcycle collided with a 2000 Toyota at 6:55 p.m.
 
Upon further investigation, it was determined that Tomassi’s license had been suspended/revoked 45 times since 2001. These suspensions included 30 scofflaws on 13 separate dates.
 
Tomassi, 32, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree. He also received 10 traffic-related summonses. He will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on October 4.  
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
