Huntington Woman Found Dead at Local Nature Preserve - Authorities Still Searching for Answers

In today's Crime Update, we bring you the details of a woman that was found dead by Suffolk County Police yesterday, and the scoop on a scammer who snatched credit cards from a woman's purse earlier this week.

Huntington, NY - October 3, 2012: Suffolk County Police are investigating the body of a woman found in a Huntington Nature Preserve on the morning of October 3rd. The woman has been identified as Sarah Strobel, 23, of Huntington Station. 
 
Police were notified of the body found in the Froehlich Farm Nature preserve after a person walking on a path noticed an adult female’s body at 8:50 a.m. Once officers arrived on the scene they were unable to identify the body until the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiners performed an autopsy later in the evening.

Centereach, NY - October 4, 2013: Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Fourth Squad detectives are seeking help from anybody that may have information on a woman  who used stolen credit cards at a Walmart
 
The incident happened on September 17 when a wallet containing credit cards was stolen from a woman’s pocketbook in Lake Grove at Trader Joe’s. Later in the day she discovered one of her credit cards was used at a Walmart in Centereach.
 
Crime Stoppers is issuing a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest in the case of the stolen credit card used in Walmart. Anyone with information on the credit card fraud or the body found in Huntington are being urged to call 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.
