Celebrate The 25th Hamptons International Film Festival and Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged’s 60th Anniv. on Tom Needham’s The Sounds of Film

Stony Brook, NY - October 3, 2017 - Tom Needham will be speaking with the Hamptons International Film Festival’s Executive Director, Anne Chaisson, and Artistic Director, David Nugent, on Thursday’s Sounds of Film at 6 P.M. on WUSB. In addition, he will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged with Academy Award Nominated director, Michael Paxton, and the executive chairman of the Ayn Rand Institute, Yaron Brook.
 
The 25th Anniversary Hamptons International Film Festival takes place October 5 – 9, Columbus Day Weekend, and features 65 features and 50 shorts representing a total of 40 countries across the globe. Some of the anticipated features include Joe Wright’s Darkest Hour, Paul McGuigan’s Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool, Noah Baumbauch’s The Meyerowitz Stories, Allison Chernick’s Itzhak and Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck. Jamie Bell, Annette Bening, Josh Gad, Jordan Peele, Margot Robbie, Sam Rockwell and Allison Williams will all be making appearances at the festival.  In addition, this year’s festival will honor Academy Award-winning actress Julie Andrews with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

2017 also marks the 60th anniversary of the publication of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged.  To discuss Rand’s monumental work, Tom Needham will be joined by Academy Award nominated director of Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life, Michael Paxton, and Yaron Brook, author of the new book,  In Pursuit of Wealth: The Moral Case for Finance and host of the Yaron Brook Show.
