Moriches Elementary Students Receive Visit from SBU School of Dental Medicine

Moriches, NY - October 3rd, 2014 - To kick off October and National Dental Hygiene Month sponsored by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), Moriches Elementary School in the William Floyd School District welcomed Pediatric Residents and Hygienists from the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine for an oral health education assembly.

Residents and hygienists met which children in all grades and emphasized the importance of taking care of their teeth and gums every day through regular brushing and flossing. They also demonstrated the proper brushing/flossing techniques and discussed healthy food choices.

“We are extremely thankful to the Stony Brook University staff who provided the supplies and information to our students,” said Eileen Filippone, Principal, Moriches Elementary School. “It is important that students develop good oral hygiene at an early age.”
