Nassau County Police Dept: Attempted Robbery Arrest Made in Baldwin

Baldwin, NY - October 2nd, 2013 - The First Squad reports the arrest of two men for an Attempted Robbery that occurred on October 1, 2013 in Baldwin.

According to Detectives, at 5:30pm the female victim, 31, was sitting in her parked vehicle in a parking lot outside of 2277 Grand Avenue when she observed in her rearview mirror two masked men suddenly approach.  The victim immediately put her car in reverse and began to back up.  The victim screamed out causing the subjects to remove their masks and flee the scene.  The Police search located defendant Shabazz Oliver, 16, of 679A Brooklyn Avenue Baldwin at 6:15pm in the bushes on Florence Street.  Defendant Allen Sanders, 20, of 171 Jay Street Freeport was located in a rear yard on New York Avenue at 7:40pm.  Both defendants were taken into custody without incident.  No injuries were reported.

Defendants Oliver and Sanders are each charged with Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree.  They will be arraigned in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
