Roosevelt Pair Arrested for Crack Cocaine Possession in Uniondale

Uniondale, NY - October 1st, 2014 - The Narcotics/Vice Squad reports the details of an arrest for criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance that occurred in Uniondale on 06/16/14 and 06/25/14 at 10:05 P.M. and 6:33 P.M., respectively.

According to detectives, Laquan Smith, 37, of Mirin Ave., Roosevelt, on the above listed dates, sold crack cocaine to another for an agreed upon amount of money, while in a parking lot on Jerusalem Ave.

On 09/30/14, Bureau of Special Operations police officers observed defendant Smith operating a 2007 Lexus in the vicinity of Lakewood Dr./Anna Ave. in Roosevelt, with passenger/defendant Nadine Blair, 34, (same address).  When officers stopped the vehicle, the defendant was found to be driving with a suspended license and had crack cocaine in the car.

Smith is being charged with two counts of Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, Operatate MV by an Unlicensed Driver and Unsafe Turn/Fail to Signal.  Blair is being charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 4th Degree.  Both defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, 10/01/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
