Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash
Patchogue, NY - October 1, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a Patchogue man early this morning.
Christopher Young was driving a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on North Ocean Avenue when his vehicle struck a 2009 Toyota, driven by Anthony Baldassarre, which was traveling westbound on Vehslage Street.
Baldassarre, 73, of Patchogue, was transported by the North Patchogue Fire Department to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. Young, 22, of Bay Shore, was also transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
