SCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Robbing String of Port Jeff Retailers

Port Jefferson Station, NY - September 30th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who robbed two Port Jefferson Station stores in September.

On Friday, September 19, 2014, a man entered the Family Dollar store, located at 526 Route 112, at approximately 9:40 a.m. The suspect walked up to the register and threatened an employee with a knife, demanding cash. The suspect fled the store on foot with the cash. On September 23, 2014, at approximately 8: 15 p.m., the suspect entered the Carvel ice cream store, located at 407 Route 112, and demanded cash from an employee who complied and gave him the cash. The suspect fled the store on foot.   

The suspect is described as possibly a white or light-skinned Hispanic male, between 5 feet ten inches tall to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build and a small black moustache.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
