Duo Arrested for Home Depot Theft Scam

Syosset, NY - September 30th, 2014 - The Major Case Bureau, Crimes Against Property Squad, reports the arrest of two individuals for a Grand Larceny that occurred in Syosset.

According to detectives, beginning in May 2014 and continuing through July 2014, Roneil Harisaran, 44, of Ridge Drive, Roslyn, while employed at Home Depot, 111 Jericho Turnpike, Syosset, aided Praimchand Seecharan, 46, of 124th Street, Richmond Hill, with allowing unpaid store items to leave the store.

After receiving $500.00 from Seecharan, Harisaran, while tending the register at the “Special Services” area, purposely neglected to ring up select items brought to the check out by Seecharan.

An internal store investigation disclosed the incidents which totaled in excess of $4000.00 and on August 2, 2014, Harisaran was arrested by detectives at the store.

On September 29, 2014, Seecharan surrendered himself to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives.

Harisaran was charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree. He was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 08/03/2104.

Seecharan, who is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 09/29/2014.
