Officials: Man Wanted for Using Counterfeit Currency at Copiague Store in August

Copiague, NY - September 29, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who made a purchase using counterfeit currency at a Copiague store earlier this year.
 
A man used counterfeit $20 bills to purchase a Shark vacuum at Target, located at 1149 Sunrise Highway, on August 3 on 12:30 p.m. The man was described as having a light complexion, in his middle to late 20s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build and a tattoo on his right forearm. The man fled the parking lot in a dark-colored Honda sedan.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
