Written by WFSD News  |  28. September 2015

Mastic Beach, NY - September 28th, 2015 - To help usher in William Floyd’s sixth annual Unity Week, a celebration of unity, peace, diversity and tolerance, Tangier Smith Elementary School students in kindergarten through fifth grade along with staff gathered together and formed a human peace sign with rays of light.

Students blew bubbles on the field and adults released trained doves into the air symbolizing random acts of kindness and peace, respectively.

Unity Week, held in collaboration with the Shanti Fund, takes place during the week of September 28 through October 2 and includes age-appropriate activities for students throughout the district’s eight schools. Special thanks to the East Moriches Fire Department for providing assistance with the photograph.

William Floyd High School students are also hosting "Unity Night" on Wednesday, September 30. Click here for more details!
