Woman Killed in East Moriches Industrial Accident, Suffolk Officials Report
East Moriches, NY - Sept. 27, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which an employee was killed in an industrial accident in East Moriches on Wednesday, September 26.
An employee of Kurt Weiss Greenhouses, Inc. was operating a box truck on the North Service Road and Chapman Boulevard, at approximately 11 a.m., when he backed into Julia Molina. Molina, 49, of Mastic was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The employee stayed at the scene and was uninjured. A Safety Check was conducted at the scene.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
