NCPD: Second Arrest Made in Connection with Alleged MS-13 East Meadow Murder

East Meadow, NY - Sept. 27, 2018 - Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of Jose Quintanilla Cruz, 23, of Hempstead, in connection with a Homicide.
 
According to detectives, while working jointly with Homeland Security and the DEA, information was received that human remains may be found in a Nassau County owned sump on the southwest side of Glenn Curtiss Boulevard in East Meadow. During this investigation human remains of Carlos Rivas-Majano, 21, of Uniondale were discovered on August 29.
 
Previously, Defendant Carlos Benitez-Hernandez, 21, of Uniondale, was arrested on August 30 in connection with the above incident.
 
Jose Quintanilla Cruz is charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 9/27/2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
