Two Men Arrested for Conducting Drug Deal Near West Babylon School

West Babylon, NY - September 25, 2013 - Suffolk County Police today arrested two men for conducting a drug deal near a middle school in West Babylon this morning.

In response to complaints of drug dealing, First Precinct Community Oriented Police Enforcement (COPE) Officer Michael Donlon was conducting extra patrols and surveillance near West Babylon Junior High School.

Officer Donlon was in very close proximity to the school on Joan Place when he witnessed a hand-to-hand drug transaction in which Ramel McClinton, 19, sold a controlled substance to Frederick Johnston, 46, at approximately 11:35 a.m.

McClinton, of Platt Avenue West Babylon, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of School Grounds, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.  Johnston, of Tameling Avenue, Babylon was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.

Detectives asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
