Officials: Roosevelt Man In Custody for Obstructing Police, Assaulting NCPD Medic

East Meadow, NY - September 25, 2017 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Assault that occurred on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 6:56 pm in East Meadow.
 
According to detectives, Vincent Flowers, 60, was arrested for Obstructing Governmental Administration by Freeport Village Police Department. Flowers was Transported to a local hospital for treatment to a laceration on the back of his head. While at the hospital, the defendant became combative and had to be subdued by Freeport Police, hospital staff and a Nassau County Police Medic. During the struggle, Flowers grabbed the police medic by his shirt collar in a twisting motion.
 
The Nassau County Police Medic suffered injuries to his neck, back and left arm. He was treated and released from the hospital.
 
Defendant Flowers is additionally charged with Assault 2nd degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
