With a soft opening on September 15, Brass Swan swooped into Roslyn with a fine dining experience featuring classic American fare.

Promising a modern taste with a classic feel, the starters include Truffle Corn Tostadas with fresh shaved burgundy truffle, grilled corn and Mexican cheese blend ($25), Steak Tips served in Bone Marrow, a NY strip, arugula, potato chip, toasted breadcrumbs and pecorino roma ($27), Grilled Octopus ($26), and Pork Belly Costini, a crispy pork belly, guava glaze, frying cheese, and whipped burrata ($23).

The pasta menu includes a Truffle Tortellini (MP), Mezzi Rigatoni in Pomodoro pink sauce with whipped burrata and calabrian chili ($29), and Ravioli with lobster, king crab, shrimp in a lobster bisque reduction and Grana Padano ($38).

Seafood includes a King Slamon ($36) and Seafood Risotto ($44), and the menu also features Chicken Mattone with cilantro lime rice, mushrooms, sauteed kale and salsa verde ($29) and a 14oz. Bone-in Veal Chop ($59).

On Yelp, Giuliana, from Yonkers, gave it five stars.

“Tonight was their soft opening,” she wrote. “The ambiance is classy, elegant and comfortable at the same time. Food was just perfect. Drinks were beautiful. Staff is so nice. Definitely will be back.”

Linda G, from Roslyn, went for the soft opening as well and gave it four stars but said she sees a lot of potential.

“As ‘townies’ are always excited to see new dining options in walking distance,” she wrote. “The decor is beautifully designed with great attention and clearly sets the stage for refined dining. Loved the individual lights on each table.”

She said that the first night didn’t hit all the marks yet but that might be because of the newness of the place which had yet to hit its stride but said the food was the high point of the night.

“Looking forward to revisiting as the food was delicious and confident that they will work out the kinks,” she said. “Having just returned from Italy, we noticed that they have traditional pasta dishes listed (one fresh option) and a gorgeous pizza oven - definitely need to try a pizza next time.”
