Police Respond to Reports of Hempstead Shooting; One Victim Discovered Injured

Hempstead, NY - Sept. 21, 2018 - Third Squad detectives are investigating an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, September 20, 2018 at 12:43 a.m. Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, Hempstead officers responded to a “Shot Spotter” activation on Linden Place. Upon arrival officers observed shell casings and damage to an automobile as a result of the shots.
 
Detectives were later notified that a male victim who suffered a gunshot wound was at an area hospital for treatment. Upon further investigation it was determined that the male victim was on Linden Place at the time of the incident when he heard shots fired, he felt pain in his foot and realized he had suffered a gunshot wound.
