New York State Troopers Respond to Water Rescue in Riverhead

Riverhead, NY - Sept. 21, 2018 - On Wednesday September 19th, 2018 at approximately 5:11 P.M., Riverhead PD dispatched a call for an unconscious male lying face down in the Peconic River near Grangabel Park. A Trooper from SP Riverside responded to the scene as well as a Riverhead Police Officer. 
 
Both officers located the subject about 25 feet from the river’s edge. The officers secured their gun belts and ballistic vests and entered the water. The male subject was pulled from the water and found to be unconscious and not breathing. C.P.R. was initiated by the officers and the subject regained his pulse and began to breathe on his own.  
 
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene and transported the 44-year-old male victim to Peconic Bay Medical Center for further treatment.
