Officials: Three Apprehended on Drug Charges in Connection with Overdose of High School Student

Plainview, NY - September 21, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the details of three (3) arrests for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 8:35 pm in Plainview.
 
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, an investigation was made into a non-fatal overdose of an 18 year old male high school student. During the investigation detectives were able to identify the narcotics seller defendant Kevin Staiano, 18, of Plainview.  
 
On September 19, 2017 detectives conducted a vehicle traffic stop of an automobile in which Kevin Staiano was a passenger. After an investigation defendant Brandon Bromberg, 18, of Plainview (the driver) along with defendant Staiano were placed under arrest. Recovered from the automobile was a backpack containing 1025 Xanax pills, 131 broken pieces of Xanax, 73 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 42 grams of Ketamine, 5 grams of MDMA, 5 grams of Cocaine, 1 gram of DMT, 45 tabs of Acid, 50 grams of Marijuana and 4 Ecstasy pills. Further investigation revealed that defendant Staiano rented an apartment in Queens with defendant Nicholas Gennaro, 19, of Whitestone.  
 
Recovered in the apartment were 1250 grams of Mushrooms, 70 grams of Ketamine, 7 grams of Cocaine, 1 gram of Adderall, 14 grams of Dimethyltryptamine, 360 grams of MDMA, 4 pounds of Marijuana, 2,133 Xanax pills, 1672 Ecstasy pills, 1841 Roxicodone pills and 3150 tabs of Acid. Also seized was over $8,000 in cash.  Defendant Gennaro was placed under arrest at the scene.
 
Defendant Staiano is being charged with 19 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree. Defendant Bromberg is being charged with Criminal Facilitation 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.  Defendant Gennaro is being charged with 11 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd and 3rd Degrees. They will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
