NCPD: Hempstead Man Accused of Stealing Over $3,000 In Tools from Elmont Home Depot

Elmont, NY - September 21, 2017 - Fifth Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hempstead man for multiple larcenies that occurred in Elmont beginning Friday, 06/23/17 through Thursday, 09/14/17.
 
According to detectives, Lesean Armstead, 33, entered Home Depot located at 600 Hempstead Ave. in Elmont between the above listed dates, on five different occasions, and removed assorted power tools without paying, valued in the amount of $3,562.
            
Fifth Squad detectives located the defendant in front of his residence on Wednesday, 09/20/17. The defendant resisted arrest and fled on foot. Detectives apprehended him in a rear yard on Tennessee Ave., where he was placed under arrest.  Armstead is being charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, two counts of Petit Larceny, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession Marijuana, and will be arraigned on Thursday, 09/21/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
