Nassau County Police Department: Bellmore Man Arrested for Narcotics

Bellmore, NY - September 20th, 2013 - The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Bellmore man for Possession of a Controlled Substance in Bellmore on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11:05 pm.

According to detectives, Johnson Chad, 32, of 1341 Pea Pond Road was observed by Seventh Precinct Plain Clothes Officers driving his 2001 Ford driving at a high rate of speed west on Merrick Road near Lefferts Place. A Vehicle and Traffic Law stop was initiated by the Officers at which time they detected a strong odor of Marijuana and noticed an electronic cigarette commonly used for smoking Hashish. The defendant Chad was removed from the vehicle and placed into custody. Subsequent investigation recovered the following items from the vehicle: 3 large bags in excess of 3 Lbs of Marijuana, 1 small bag of Cocaine, 10 white Hydrocodone pills, 2 yellow Hydrocodone pills, and $ 3020.00 in US currency. There were no injuries reported.

Johnson Chad was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th  Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Vehicle Traffic Law Violation. He will be arraigned on Friday, September 20, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
