Middle Island, NY - September 19th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who stole merchandise from a Middle Island store earlier this month.

A man entered Walmart, located at 750 Middle Country Road, put clothing and fishing reels in a backpack and attempted to leave the store on September 5 at approximately 11:35 a.m. A store employee grabbed the backpack from the man as he attempted to exit the store. The man fled without proceeds in a green Mitsubishi.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
