Oceanside Man Arrested After Pointing Shotgun at Victim, Police Report

Oceanside, NY - Sept. 17, 2018 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of an Oceanside man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 12:56 am in Oceanside.
 
According to detectives, patrol officers responded to a Pearl Street residence for a call regarding a firearm. Upon arrival, the male victim, 26, notified police he answered a knock at the door and observed Ryan Mueller, 26, pointing a shotgun at him. The victim closed the door and Mueller fled the scene. Officers located Mueller at his residence and placed him under arrest without incident.
 
During a thorough investigation, police removed the following items from the defendant’s residence:
 
  • Two (2) assault rifles
  • Six (6) high capacity magazines
  • A long-gun
  • A switchblade knife
  • Fireworks
Defendant Mueller is charged with eight (8) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Menacing 2nd Degree, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Unlawfully Dealing with Fireworks. He will be arraigned on Monday, September 17, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
