MASTIC BEACH, NY - September 17, 2013 - The New York Cosmos professional soccer team of the North American Soccer League (NASL) recently held a “Back to School” soccer clinic at the William Floyd High School soccer fields for William Floyd students aged seven through 14. Students had the opportunity to participate in drills and scrimmages with professional soccer players, members of the Cosmos Training and Development program and William Floyd boys and girls varsity soccer players.

“The NY Cosmos, once the premier team of the NASL and the world, have re-established themselves in the world of professional soccer on Long Island,” said Paul Paniccia, William Floyd boys varsity soccer coach. “It was a privilege to welcome the Cosmos to our Floyd fields. Their players and coaching staff were great with our students. It was an exciting afternoon!”

Attending the clinic from the first place Cosmos was head coach Giovanni Savarese, and midfielders Paulo Mendes and Edison Bilbao Zarate, who interacted with the students, signed autographs and posed for photographs.
