Suffolk County Offers Support for Residents at Risk for Diabetes

The “Healthy Heart, Healthy Weight, Healthy Attitude” program begins in October.

Patchogue, NY - September 17, 2013 - The Suffolk County Department of Health Services, in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension, is offering a program to residents who are overweight and struggling with high cholesterol and/or high blood pressure, all which contribute to risk for diabetes.

The four-week program, entitled “Healthy Heart, Healthy Weight, Healthy Attitude” is designed to help participants improve eating habits, weight and overall health.  All community residents are welcome.  There is no charge for participation, however seating is limited and pre-registration is required. The program will be available at the following locations:

Patchogue-Medford Library

54-60 East Main St., Patchogue, NY 11772

Wednesday evenings from 6:30—8:30 p.m.

October 2, 9, 16, 23

Participation in all sessions is necessary
