There will be an abundance of Family Fun at the LI Family Festival in Tanner Park, Copiague on September 16-18 (rain date: Sept 30, Oct 1-2).

Copiague, NY - September 16, 2016 - If you’re looking for a great place to spend a September weekend, Long Island’s Family Festival is the place to be! This fun-filled pet friendly Festival is taking place Friday, September 16, 6-10 pm (music, food and carnival) Saturday, September 17, 11am – 10 pm and Sunday, September 18, 11am – 8 pm along the seaside beach at Babylon’s beautiful Tanner Park in Copiague. (Rain Date is Sept 30, Oct 1-2). Admission is free.

During this exciting weekend, Tanner Park will be magically transformed with plenty of amazing entertainment, events and surprises. Weekend highlights include:

  • An exhilarating carnival with plenty of rides for children of all ages
  • Live Musical entertainment will fill the air at the Festival beginning Friday evening and continuing through the weekend
  • "Ocean View Art, Craft & Gift Show"
  • Pet Expo in the Park with Pet Pavilion and Dog Performance Arena
  • Corky’s International Haute Couture Canine Fashion Show (Saturday)
  • Dachshund and Small Dog Derby
  • All Aboard: Imagination on Track with Plenty of Train Themed Adventures

And that’s not all – there will be custom car shows with some of Long Island’s hottest cars. You will see great competition at the annual Pizza Eating Contest. New this year will be the “Grilling at the Beach BBQ Contest” and, for the children, a fun Corn Husking competition. Music will be in the air all weekend long at the Sea Shell Show Mobile which will showcase wonderful talent. Featured groups sponsored by The Beach Hut will include DJ Gene from Music Idol USA, The Big Show: 70’s & 80’s Greatest Hits and Sabori the Salsa and Latin Jazz Band.

Another highlight for the weekend is Corky’s International Canine Haute Couture Fashion Show where canines will dress up in their hottest international fashions. There will be a great opportunity to mix and mingle with our arts & crafts, retail, not-for- profit and promotional vendors who will sell and display their wares or offer valuable information to attendees.

All the fun begins as you enter the festival – you can have your face painted by our face painting artist Joanie Baloney, try your luck at spinning the wheel at the Suffolk Federal booth, taste delicious iced tea from Long Island Ice Tea, select the hottest outfit from Dream Gal’s mobile shop or purchase great rock ‘n roll posters, jewelry and other gifts from some of the greatest vendors around.
