Pedestrian Killed in Coram Motor Vehicle Crash, Police Report

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man in Coram on Saturday, September 14.
 
Martin Tiess was walking with a bicycle on northbound Route 112 when he was struck by a northbound 2001 Nissan Suburban at approximately 9:10 pm. Tiess, 57, of Mount Sinai, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
 
The driver of the Nissan, Troy Norr, 50, of Manorville, and a female passenger were not injured.
 
The Nissan was impounded for a safety check.  Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
