NCPD: Uniondale Man Arrested for Firearm, Drug Possession

The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Possession of a Weapon that occurred in Uniondale.
 
According to detectives, First Precinct Police Officers responded to a Warwick Street residence for a man armed with a handgun. Upon police arrival, a male was observed waving a handgun near the basement door. The officers gave several commands for him to drop his weapon and exit away from the residence. The defendant, Luis Aguilar, 36, complied and was placed into police custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
 
Further investigation revealed that defendant Aguilar was in possession of a defaced handgun along with a substance believed to be Cocaine.
 
Defendant, Luis Aguilar, is being charged with two counts of Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal possession of a Weapon 4th degree, two counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree. The defendant will be arraigned when medically practical.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
