Written by Long Island News & PR  |  18. September 2019

Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini announced that a Suffolk County District Court judge, who is currently suspended, pleaded guilty in connection with attempting to steal women’s underwear from his neighbor’s residence in 2018.

Robert Cicale, 50, of East Islip, pleaded guilty to Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree, a class D felony.

“He violated the law, the public’s trust and the victims’ sense of security,” District Attorney Sini said. “Today’s disposition holds him accountable for his actions and serves justice.”

At approximately 9 a.m. on March 29, 2018, Cicale unlawfully entered his neighbor’s home on Donna Place. Cicale became aware that there was a female resident in the home and immediately fled.

The defendant was apprehended by responding police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Third Precinct. Upon his arrest, detectives recovered several pairs of women’s underwear from Cicale’s suit jacket and raincoat.

Cicale provided a statement to detectives admitting that he had entered the home on multiple past occasions and removed the underwear from an upstairs hamper. He noted that he had intended to steal panties again on the day of his arrest but left when he heard someone in the house.

Cicale is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 15 in front of Nassau County District Court Judge David Goodsell. He is expected to be sentenced to five years of probation with sex offender conditions.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Milito, of the Major Crime Bureau.
