Legislator Anker Honors Local “Angels” at Second Annual Angel Awards

Hauppauge, NY - September 15, 2017 - On Tuesday, September 12, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined Rhonda Klch, founder of the Equity First Foundation, to honor 23 women from across Long Island at the Second Annual Angel Awards at the Radisson Hotel in Hauppauge. The Angel Awards honor outstanding women in the community who go above and beyond to help others. The honorees are able to successfully combine their work, home life, and volunteering to improve the quality of life for residents across Long Island.
 
“I am proud to be a part of the Angel Awards, as the event provide us with the opportunity to honor amazing women and thank them for all that they do for our community,” said Legislator Anker. “Women are becoming a strong force in business, government, and in their local communities, and it is important to make sure that their hard work, dedication, and altruism does not go unrecognized.”
 
“Extraordinary women are born every day on Long Island and the Angel Awards is here to showcase them,” said Rhonda Klch, founder of the Equity First Foundation and chief organizer of the Angel Awards event.
 
The women who were honored at the Second Annual Angel Awards include: Deirdrea Renwich, Amanda Seppi, DebraAnn Loesch, Brittany Marie Loesch, Josephine Geraci, Maria Elena DiMino, Stephanie Mendelson, Julie Watterson, Greta Guarton, Ilisa Cohen, Lauri Carey, Sister Patricia Griffith, Carolyn Baez, Rogerlyn Valez Cipriano, Maureen Tara Nelson, Jenny Tranfaglia, Kim Poulus Lieberz, Lori Scardino, Julia Abreu, Barbara Mongillo, Dr. Karyn Halpern, Dr. Erika Jurasits, and Medaline Mastriano.
