Suffolk County Executive Bellone Announces Parks Schedule For Fall Season

Suffolk County, NY - Sept. 12, 2018 - Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today announced the fall schedule for Suffolk County Department of Parks facilities post-Labor Day. After another successful year with strong attendance across all County parks, beaches and campgrounds, the fall schedule aims to continue to drive visitors with new permit and time incentives for a range of activities, as well as other important parks related information and events.
 
“These new adjustments are part of our continued commitment to expand recreational access and bring more visitors to our outdoor facilities,” said Suffolk County Executive Bellone. “Whether you enjoy archery, horseback riding or one of the many annual events hosted at our facilities, Suffolk County parks have something for everyone.”
 
For the first time, all Suffolk County campgrounds will remain open through Veterans Day with the exception of Smith Point, which will be closed on October 31 for the Annual Girl Scouts Lights Show. Southaven County Park will close on November 5, 2018 for the Suffolk County Junior Hunting Program.
 
Parking fees for all County Parks has been Suspended until Memorial Day 2019. Twilight fees at County Golf Courses will take effect at 2:00PM and are applicable at Bergen Point, Indian Island, Timber Point and West Sayville Golf Courses. Fall group horseback riding permits are also sale to the public for beach horseback riding. 
 
Beginning September 17, archery permits will go on sale and run from October 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019, available at 40 different County parkland locations that allow archery hunting for deer.
